This pendant titled "Virtue of Kotinos" is handmade in Sterling Silver. It is fully engraved and every square millimeter of the surface on this piece has been diligently designed and constructed. The centerpiece gemstone is a 19.75 ct Acid Etched Green Beryl natural crystal from Padre Paraiso, Brazil. There are 19 1.5mm SI1 diamonds and 1 1.75mm SI1 diamond. The halo of diamonds on the top is surrounding a 4mm Moldavite round brilliant cut gemstone. There is one 2.5 mm yellow sapphire and 1 2mm peridot. This piece took well over 55 hours.
This piece depicts Greek Symbology; the Olive Wreath given to winners of the ancient Greek Olympic Games is called Kotinos. The Laurel Leaves surrounding the Moldavite and Diamond Halo is a classic representation of the Kotinos. In naming the pendant, Virtue of Kotinos, my intention is to embrace the sentiment that the ancient Olympic competitors did not compete for possessions but for virtue.
